What do I like to snack on???... Not raw or even cooked eyeballs and toes, certainly!!!... YUCK!!!... I prefer buttery popcorn, peanut-butter-on-a-spoon, strawberries, raspberries,blackberries, sharp cheddar cheese, black cherries, berry Jose Cuervo maragritas, roasted hulled sunflower seeds mixed with black raisins, grape jelly beans, extra crunchy cheese curls, horseradish mustard dipped pretzel rods and jumbo shrimps.

MY FASCINATING HISTORY, - [The Life Story Of Maleficent]...

My beautiful and glorious name, the name that humans called me, is a combination of the words, "mal", meaning evil, and magnificent. (Yes, I do have a birth name, but I will never tell it to mere humans.) So, ~ there!... Simply put the two parts together and that is my name, ~ MALEFICENT!!!...

I am very tall, as are most of the imperial elfin lords and ladies are, ~ six feet, two inches, in fact. My hair is jetty black. My skin is pale blue or pale green, depending on my mood. My eyes are golden, like a hawk's eyes. I was born in the incredibly lovely and unique faerie land called The Moors, many, many, many, many hundreds of years ago. I have been asked, ~ Are faeries immortal?... The smaller faeries are not, especially small flower faeries, whose lives are bound to the flowers they care for. However, imperial faeries, such as myself, may be immortal. I have never known one of us to die of old age, or disease, to which, of course, we are not susceptible. But, we can be killed by wounds. Still, we are very, very, very difficult to kill... Uh-hum!, ~ I was an adorable sweet-natured child, romping about in my flimsy little brown dress. One very fateful day I met a good-looking human prince, Prince Stephan. I fell extremely hard for him, my first, and my only romantic love, ~ AND, the slime, the misbegotten little worm, ~ he betrayed me!!!! I THOUGHT, I TRULY THOUGHT he dearly loved me!!! But, OH, NO!!!... HE DIDN'T!!! He chopped my wings off, ~ my splendid magical wings!!! But, I got them back, and I NEVER-EVER-EVER-EVER trusted another human, or fell in love EVER-EVER-EVER AGAIN!!!... Ummm... Even thinking of the memory of it greatly upsets me!!!... I must compose myself to relate the rest of my story... Yes-yes... The French storyteller Charles Perrault first wrote about me hundreds and hundreds of years ago when I was not invited to the blessing of the baby Princess Aurora. I was so offended that I placed a delicious curse upon the child. True, as the two good faeries granted, she would be wondrously fair, and have a beautiful singing voice, but on her disgustingly sweet sixteenth birthday she would prick her dainty finger on the poisonous spindle of an ancient spinning wheel and then, that insipid bit of fluff would fall down DEAD, DEAD, DEAD, ~~~ OH, SO DELICIOUSLY D E A D !!!!!!!!!!!!!...

But, the third faerie stepped up and softened my beautiful curse by turning the punishment to only a long, long, long sleep, - a sleep lasting one hundred years...

There are several versions of this story... Here's one:

Time went by; Aurora lived with the three good faeries in a cottage in a little woods. She was known as Briar Rose. One day, she met stunningly handsome Prince Phillip, a gallant buffoon, who had some luck, and with his native courage added to that, was able to rescue Aurora. He thought I was dead when he threw his sword into my chest, but I was only in my dragon form, as has been talked about many times, before... So, no, --- I WAS MOST CERTAINLY NOT DEAD.

Another version of the same feeble story:

The prince who was to rescue Aurora was NOT her true love. I repeat, ~ he WAS NOT her true love! He only wanted her, as practically every man who laid eyes on her did. It was a "mother's" love that awakened Aurora, a very true love, - MINE, - for I had, somehow, come to love her as a daughter, - to my VAST SURPRISE!!!

So, - I now keep company with my loyal creatures, - Diaval, the raven who promised to serve me for the rest of his life since I saved him from being beaten to death by cruel men and Fiddle, my black cat, and Elfera, the bat who I raised, an orphan, from the time she was the tiniest of babies huddled, shivering, wet and cold, in the murky dark, Flora my dodo, who I rescued from the isle of Mauritius, the only place where dodos ever were, and before mortal men, pirates and sailors, stupidly ate all of them and Johnny, my alligator, plus assorted adorable mutant castle creatures, .

I am both HEROINE & VILLAIN, as the whole world of humans and the fey world, NOW, know!!! [Fancy that!] HA-HA-HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

She's never right... She's either pre-menstrual, menstrual, or post-menstrual... Drives me nuts.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE UNSEELIE COURT IS???...

Very few humans do... The Unseelie Court is, quite frankly, the Bad Faeries. [The word "Unseelie" is Scottish. We are also called "the Slaugh", - or "the Host".] We are many, many, many, many in number, - multitudes and multitudes, actually. Naturally, we have been around for eons & eons & eons, - far, far, far longer than the crass and infantile human race.

Some say we are pagan gods; some say we are evil restless spirits that are manifestations of the 4 elements: air, water, fire and earth; some believe we are fallen angels; some believe we are even extra terrestrials; some say we are the kingdom of the dead!... [Fancy that!] No matter, what people think: We aren't ever, ever telling what we REALLY are!

Humans say that we fly, mostly at night, some say as the dreaded "Wild Hunt", skimming the surface of their earth, hoping to snatch up unsuspecting mortal creatures, - mankind and animal, ~ both! [Ugh, do they really think we'd like to steal a dog, or a cow, - how coarse and unsophisticated!... Whatever would we want with a raw dog or a raw cow???... And, why bother to cook them???... Gag, ~ cow nose or dog rump, or even a steak or stew!!!... Now, - perhaps, we'd take an emerald, - ha-ha!, ~ if it's big and brilliant enough!]

Let me name a few of my wonderful subjects, for I know them all, being their illustrious Queen: boggles, scags, breaknecks, kelpies, redcaps, druggars, goblins, hags, fetches, fire-drakes, knockers, burnt-tails, raw-head-and-bloody-bones', spunks, boggarts, imps, men-in-the-oaks, bonelesses, incubusses, buttery spirits, sucubusses, hob-headlesses, buggaboos, spectres, wraithes, gringes, dopple-gangers, yeth-hounds, water leapers, vila, tritons, vodyanoi, gargoyles, fox spirits, pixies, salmanders, winged panthers, changelings, bull-beggars, spriggans, death-hearses, bolls, sirens, black dogs, giants, satyrs, leshys, pookas, noggles, krakens, manticores, madcaps, fiends, fates, swarths, bygorns, gringylows, bunyips, lamia, tengu, harpies, nixies, trolls, hobthrusts, shocks, salamanders, dragons [These are my special favorites, --- dragons of all the four elements --- air, fire, water and earth], and, so forth, and so on, - etc., etc., etc. ... Of course, - I can hardly forget adding the Will-o-the-wisp or the Ignis Fatuus, which is a flickering light moving slowly over the moors and other lonely places, or the Ganconer, the Faerie Love-talker, an extremely charismatic male fey who charms human women so thoroughly that once they have been with him they will accept no other male. When he leaves them they pine away, into their cute little graves. I also add the Chimera who has the has heads of a goat, a lion and a dragon, and the Irish Phouka who can be half human-half horse and who is tricky to the point of genius, and I must also add Jenny Greenteeth to this list, she who waits at the edge of slimy ponds to drag unsuspecting people into the water and down to the depths and her friend Peg Powler, - both of them river hags, and the Nucklelavee, an immense black and tar-like, slimey, skinless, muscular Scottish horror with bulging veins, half deformed man and half monstrous horse who lurks in brackish or salty waters.

Yes, yes, - my subjects are varied and most unusual. Some of them are, indeed, quite hideous. [I've become used to the sight of them; they are faithful!] Some are deceptively very lovely, so lovely. But, - HAAAAAAAAAA, - they are all, ALL OF THEM, mine, - THE EVIL DARLINGS!!!
